Young widow Julia Nance has found new happiness running Fairlight, her clifftop guest house situated in North Devon. With the threat of invasion looming ever larger, she throws herself into making plans to protect the village and its residents against the possibility of enemy occupation, and through doing so finds an unexpected way to save both her livelihood and her home.
